This interactive weekend workshop is your chance to experience Gestalt first-hand. It’s an ideal introduction, whether you work with people already and you’re looking for CPD opportunities or you’re simply interested in using Gestalt for self-exploration.

Who takes this course?

Anyone interested in a hands-on demonstration of the Gestalt approach including:

  • Professionals working in counselling and related professions who want to gain new skills as part of their CPD
  • Individuals interested in Gestalt as a way of increasing self-awareness, tackling dissatisfaction and making positive changes in life.

Course outline

Over the weekend, we’ll introduce the group to the principles and practice of Gestalt. Through structured exercises, individual and group process and discussion, you’ll explore together the basic principles of awareness and how this can deepen our contact with ourselves and others in any situation.

There will be experimentation with words, drawing, movement and other creative tools in a supportive and safe atmosphere where it’s possible to confront ways in which we contribute to frustration and dissatisfaction in our lives.

We will also look at the issue of responsibility, which is central to the Gestalt approach, and explore the fears and beliefs that can keep us locked in cycles of guilt and blame.
